Marriage
We are here to help at the St. Pius X Christian Community. We know "things of preparation" go best with mutual cooperation. The policies of marriage preparation, established here for your benefit, will help you in living out your sacrament uniting you most fully to Jesus and each other; we ask you to follow them. The following is an outline of basic information. A complete set of guidelines is available at the parish office.
The couple planning for marriage is expected to contact one of the priests at
least six months in advance to begin the preparation. No wedding date can be set prior to meeting with him, and no date is final until the preparation is complete. The preparation includes:
- Meetings with the priest
- Counseling
- Instruction in the Faith for non-Catholics
- Completion of requisite marriage forms
- Wedding ceremony planning
- "Facilitating Open Couple Communication,
Understanding & Study" (FOCCUS)
- Preparation Options
- "Pre-Cana" or "Engage Encounter Weekend"
- Baptismal Certificates
